What is IDRA-21?

IDRA-21 is a nootropic chemical that is a positive allosteric modulator of the AMPA receptor. It is also a benzothiadiazine derivative. It is part of the nootropics family. This particular chemical has similarities to Aniracetam, but the effects in studies show it can be 10-30 times more potent in reversing cognitive deficits induced by the likes of Alprazolam or scopolamine. Its effects are shown to last up to 48 hours, thus giving relief from these deficits for long periods of time after just one test. The reason for this is thought to be that it is promoting the induction of long-term potentiation between synapsis in the brain. So this nootropic IDRA-21 increases the excitatory synaptic strength by attenuating rapid desensitization of the AMPA receptors. This hints towards it having therapeutic effects on memory deficits in subjects that have cognitive impairments. IDRA-21 in tests seems to enhance motivation, short-term memory, and relieve depression.
